Abe, God, and His Plan for You… God gave Abraham a promise: a new land and countless offspring. But Abraham, uncertain of how it would unfold, grew impatient.

First, he reasoned that his servant Eliezer must be the heir (Genesis 15:2–3). When God clarified that the child would come from his own body, Abraham agreed to Sarai’s plan and fathered Ishmael through Hagar (Genesis 16:2–4).

Each time God revealed more of His plan, Abraham tried another strategy to bring the vision to pass in his own strength. Doubt crept in when famine drove Abraham to Egypt, where he feared for his life and thus God’s plan would be thwarted (Genesis 12:10–13).

Later, Sarah laughed at God’s word, thinking she was too old to conceive (Genesis 18:12). These moments of wavering show how easily we, too, doubt when circumstances appear impossible.

We have God’s promises of provision, healing, health, favor, and open doors—but His timing and His ways work better than ours.
