Luke Chapter 17

Luke 17Things that cause people to sin are bound to come, but woe to that person through whom they come. Watch yourselves! It would be better for that person to be thrown into the sea with a millstone tied around his neck than for him to cause one of these little ones to sin.” Luke 17:1-2

If your brother sins, rebuke him. If he repents, forgive him.” Luke 17:3

When you have done everything you were told to do, you should say, ‘I am an unworthy servant. I have only done my duty.’ ” Luke 17:10

If you have faith as small as a mustard seed . . .  then . . . Rise! Go! Show! Your faith has made you well.” Luke 17:6, 14, 17

The Kingdom of God does not come with your careful observation.” Luke 17:20

Because the Kingdom of God is within you.” Luke 17:21

The Son of Adam in his holy day will be like the lightning which flashes and lights up the sky from one end to the other.” Luke 17:24

As it was in the days of Noah and Lot, so it will be on the day the Son of Adam is revealed.” Luke 17:30 “Remember Lot’s wife? Whoever tries to keep his life will lose it. Whoever loses his life will preserve it.” Luke 17:23

Luke Chapter 16

Luke 16The people of this world are more shrewd in dealing with their own kind than are the people of the light.” Luke 16:8

Use worldly wealth to gain friends for yourselves so that when it is gone, you will be welcomed into eternal dwellings.” Luke 16:9

Whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.” Luke 16:10

If you have not been trustworthy with someone else’s property, who will give you property of your own?” Luke 16:12

What is highly valued among men is detestable in God’s sight.” Luke 16:15

The Law and the Prophets were proclaimed until John. Since then, the good news of the kingdom of God is being preached. Everyone is forcing his way into it. But it is easier for heaven and earth to disappear than for the least stroke of a pen to drop out of the Law.” Luke 16:16-17

Angels carried the dead man to Abraham’s side.” Luke 16:22

Luke Chapter 14

Luke 14If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters — yes, even his life — he cannot be my disciple. If a man lays the foundation and is not able to finish it, everyone who sees what he began will ridicule him. In the same way, any of you who do not give up everything he has cannot be my disciple.” Luke 14:26-27, 29-30, 33

Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?” Luke 14:3

When you are invited, take the lowest place.” Luke 14:10

When you give a luncheon, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed and repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.” Luke 14:12-14

Luke Chapter 13

Luke Chapter 13Jesus put his hands on her and immediately she straightened and praised God. Luke 13:13

Make every effort to enter through the narrow door. Many I tell you will try to enter and will not be able to.” Luke 13:24

I must keep going today and tomorrow. On the third day I will reach my goal.” Luke 13:32-33

Luke Chapter 12

Luke Chapter 12There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed. There is nothing hidden that will not be made known.” Luke 12:2

What you say in the dark will be heard in the daylight. What you have whispered in the ear within inner rooms will be proclaimed from the roofs.” Luke 12:3

Fear him who after killing the body, has the power to throw you into hell. Yes, fear him!” Luke 12:5

He who disowns me before men, I will disown before the angels and God.” Luke 12:9

Anyone who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.” Luke 12:10

Do not worry about how to defend yourself, for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what to say.” Luke 12:11-12

A man’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.” Luke 12:15

O you of little faith.” Luke 12:28

Do not worry about what you will eat or drink.” Luke 12:29

Instead, seek God’s kingdom and food and drink and clothes and everything you need will be given to you, also.” Luke 12:31

Do not be afraid. Instead sell your possessions and give to the poor.” Luke 12:32

Do that and you will have treasures in heaven that will not be exhausted.” Luke 12:33

Be dressed and ready for service. Keep your lamps burning.” Luke 12:35

It will be good for that servant whose master finds him ready.” Luke 12:38

The Son of Adam will come at an hour when you do not expect him.” Luke 12:40

The servant who knows his master’s will and does not get ready or does not do what his master wants will be beaten with many blows.” Luke 12:47

The one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows.” Luke 12:48

To him who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.” Luke 12:48

I have come to bring fire on the earth. Do you think I came to bring peace? No, I tell you, but division.” Luke 12:49-51

Luke Chapter 10

Luke Chapter10Jesus was full of joy through the Holy Spirit. Luke10:21

Father you have hidden these things from the wise and learned and revealed them to little children. This was your good pleasure.” Luke10:21

All things have been committed to me by my Father.” Luke10:22

No one knows who the Father is except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.” Luke10:22

How do YOU read the Law?” Luke10:26 (Do you read it as a set of rules? Or do you read it to seek the spirit behind the rules and the purposes of the laws?)

Who IS my neighbor?” Luke10:29

You are worried and upset about many things.” Luke10:41

Luke Chapter 9

Luke Chapter 9Jesus gave the Twelve the power and authority to drive out ALL demons and cure diseases. Luke 9:1

I begged your disciples to drive out the demon but they could not. “O unbelieving and perverse generation.” Jesus rebuked the evil spirit and healed the boy. Luke 9:41-42

If people do not welcome you, shake the dust off your feet when you leave as a testimony against them. Preach the gospel.” Luke 9:5-6

Jesus spoke to the crowds about the kingdom of God. Luke 9:11

Whoever loses his life for me will save it.” Luke 9:24

What good is it to gain the whole world and yet lose your very life?” Luke 9:25

If anyone is pleased with me and my words, I will be pleased with him.” Luke 9:26

Jesus then spoke to Moses and Elijah about his departure which was about to happen at Jerusalem.” Luke 9:31
