Once We Were Alienated From God

Colossians 1:15-22— Prayers for the Church

Once We Were Alienated From GodOnce you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior. But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death. (Colossians 1:21-22)

Lord, we are created in your image—and you are created in the image of the invisible God our Father. By you and in you and for you all things where created. All things were created by Christ and for Christ. Christ was before all things. In you all things hang together, be it creation, nations, families, or a marriage.

Lord Jesus, you are the head of the body, your church. Therefore, we beg you to reclaim this assembly for your own. In everything, you reign supreme.

We declare right here, right now, that you reign supreme in this crew and congregation.

Through you, God our father has reconciled all things to himself. Lord, you are our peace offering. Once we were enemies of God, but now through your shed blood on the cross, we are holy, blameless, without blemish, free from accusation… free from sin.

Because of you, we are welcomed back into the arms of our Father.

Thank you Jesus for becoming our bridge back to the Father.

Amen and amen.

He Has Brought His Holy People Into the Kingdom of Light

Colossians 1:12-13

He Has Brought His Holy People Into the Kingdom of LightGive joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light. He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves. (Colossians 1:12-13)

Lord Jesus, you have rescued us from the dominion of darkness. By your hand and for yer glory we have been brought into the Kingdom of Light through your suffering and death. For our redemption and for the forgiveness of our sins we have been bought back—snatched, as it where, from the devil’s paws. With your hand in ours we walk into the arms of our Father.

Thank you Jesus!

Lord, through you, I am qualified to enter the Kingdom of Light. You rescued me from the streets of darkness and led me through the front gate of your kingdom. Before I was not qualified to step foot on the property of your kingdom, but now because of your precious sacrifice, I am welcomed into your kingdom as a child of the Father.

Thank you Jesus! All glory and honor belongs to you and you alone.

Amen and amen.
