Obedience Ter Skipper, the Son, and the Holy Spirit of Truth

Discipleship Among Community / Groups

Now we be down ter the crux of the matter. Some among the crew ‘ave declared they will not abide by Skipper’s commands. Worse, they ‘ave rallied ’round ’em a goodly many of the crew who sides with this spirit of lawlessness and rebellion. In days of old the people of Skipper often proved stiff-necked and refused ter obey his Code of Conduct. Now that ruinous spirit hath taken hold of yer crew. What ter do? ya may ask.

Thar be but one thing: pray away such divisive, deceptive spirits and declare that all aboard ‘ill stand firm with Skipper and his Son.

Focal Passages: John 14:23, James 1:22, 1 Kings 2:3, Romans 8:13, Acts 5:32, Ephesians 6:17, Matthew 5:18-19, Matthew 16:19.

Lord, we pray that we would apply ter words yer our daily lives, fer ya say:

“Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching.” (John 14:23)

Yer earthly brother James once declared:

“Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.” (James 1:22)

Ter listen ter yer words but refuse ter do what they say be ter deceive ourself, fer ya hath said:

“Walk in obedience to me. Keep my decrees and commands, my laws and regulations, as written in the Law of Moses. Do this so that you may prosper in all you do and wherever you go.” (1 Kings 2:3)

Fer if we be led by yer Holy Spirit of Truth, we ‘ill rejoice at the reading, listening, hearing, tasting, and doing of yer words.

“If you live according to the flesh, you will die. But if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.” (Romans 8:13)

This be one way we kin know if we be walking by the flesh or yer Holy Spirit of Truth: doth we pray and declare that the misdeeds of the body die at the roots, at the very cells of sin? Well we know that those in a battle suit up be fer going into a scrape. Ter those who obey Skipper’s words, he hath given us his Holy Spirit of Truth. (Acts 5:32)

“Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” (Ephesians 6:17)

Lord, fer be it from us ter reject yer Holy Spirit of Truth by denying the Spirit’s words and cling ter a contrarian doctrine of false statements and half-truths. Fer ya ‘ave said:

“Until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 5:18-19)

Lord, by yer own words we bind all who sets aside one of the least of yer commands and teach others accordingly. In the mighty name of Jesus declare that we bind on earth is bound in heaven and what we loose on earth is loosed on earth. We loose yer words in ____________ ter be a blessing ter all in our crew.

Corporate Prayer fer Discipleship in yer Church

Discipleship Among Community / Groups

Many a day we ‘ill come on watch only ter discover that a mutinous spirit hath slipped in amongst the crew while they be napping. At first this seditious spirit claims ter promote love, unity, and the goodwill of the crew. But fer long them wise in the ways of pirating ‘ill recognize that a subversive attitude hath taken hold of some. They challenge the authority and commands of Skipper and twist the words and acts of the Son. Soon what seemed clear instructions be in disrepute.

Thar be but one sure way ter rally the crew back ter Skipper’s way and will and that be ter start with prayer.  Here be a short list of actions ya kin take ter rid the crew of lawless lubbers and scoundrels.

Not many of us should presume ter be teachers. Those who teach ‘ill be judged more strictly by Skipper and the Son. (James 3:1)

Lord, I declare that ____________  we’ill raise up teachers and leaders who be faithful ter yer Word and sound doctrine.

Well we know that false teachers ‘ill aim ter secretly introduce destructive heresies, and deny the Sovereign Lord. (II Peter 2:1)

Lord, in the mighty name of Jesus we bind all such spirits of false teachings and any who would seek ter secretly introduce destructive heresies inter the lessons and sermons at ____________. We declare that thar rejection be swift and they be cast out of our assembly.

A time ‘ill come when men ‘ill not put up with sound doctrine. No, they ‘ill gather ’round ’em a great number of teachers who ‘ill turn away from yer holy Truth. (II Timothy 4:3-4)

Lord, we rebuke all who spout deceptive and destructive doctrines.

Hold firmly ter the trustworthy message as it whar passed down and taught so  that we kin encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it. (Titus 1:9)

Lord, we bind all spirits that sow doctrines that deny the power and authority and word of the Son and our father, Skipper.

We must teach what is in accord with sound doctrine. (Titus 2:1)

Lord, we declare all at ____________ reject deceptive doctrines. We ‘ill gather ’round us teachers and preachers who draw us ter yer Truth. We declare that we ‘ill hold firmly ter the message ya taught when ya walked amongst us. We refute those who promote false doctrines, lie ’bout yer words, question the authority of yer words, and deny the power of yer Spirit of Truth, which be yer holy Word.
Amen and amen.
