“In the last times there will be scoffers who will follow their own ungodly desires.” – Jude 18

In tha last days, them last times, thar ‘ill be scoffers. Fellers filled with lust ‘ill follow thar own ungodly, selfish desires. Simon Peter warned ‘bout such mockers when he wrote: “In the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires.” So it not just be tha earthly brother of tha Son, Jude, who says such things, but them who walked and talked and learned from tha Son while he be on earth.

Such false teachers pervert tha grace of Skipper.

Fellers like these be selfish and follow tha way of Cain and look out fer thar own self, giving no thought ter how thar egregious  behavior corrupts others.

They be lovers of money and follow tha way and teachings of Balaam, tempting others ter commit sexual sin. Tha Son said as much when he wrote to some leaders of a church and warned: “I hold this against you. You hold to the teachings of Balaam and entice others to commit sexual immorality and eat food sacrificed to idols.” (Revelation of Christ 2:14)

Moses himself warned ‘bout such reprobates: “These women were the ones who followed Balaam’s advice and were the means of turning the Israelites away from the Lord. ” (Numbers 31:16)

Them be harsh words, but Skipper takes a tough stand on sexual sin.

Fellers like these be blemishes when tha crew gathers fer instruction, fellership, and fer singings songs and praising Skipper. They feed themselves first and last. Like a rabid dog, they foam at the mouth. Thar words be muddy muck and tha blackest darkness be reserved fer such rascals.

Fellers like these be ungodly good-fer-nothing scoundrels, who commit ungodly acts in ungodly ways and use harsh words against them who stand with Skipper and his words of instruction. Fellers like these be ungodly sinners who speak vile words against Skipper.

Fellers like these be grumblers, finding fault with ever thing and ever one who sticks ter Skippers Code of Conduct. Instead of following tha Son, as they claim they be doing, they set a course fer their own evil desires. They boast ‘bout themselves.

Fellers like these flatter others fer thar own advantage, but they do not stick ter Skipper’s Code of Conduct and they don’ ‘ave Skipper’s Holy Ghost of Truth in ’em, ya may lay ter that.

Give a wide berth ter such rogues in tha same way ya might when rounding a headland, else ya may wreck yer faith on thar reefs of treachery.

Should ya find yerself amongst congregants whar the spirit of bitterness and selfish ambitions be at work, consider praying this prayer out loud.

(Yes, we are all guilty of allowing heretics and unclean spirits to attack the Body of Christ.)

“The Lord rebuke you!” (Jude 9)

Oh Lord, wise folks with understanding and the wisdom that comes down from heaven lead humble lives of good deeds. May this be our practice as well.

Bitterness and selfish ambitions come from the devil. Such behavior be worldly and seeks ter please only the flesh. Whar thar be envy, self-serving schemes, we kin be certain chaos, confusion and ever’ sort of evil ‘ill be practiced. Lord, in yer mighty name we pray it not be so with us. May our spirit be one with yer Spirit.

Wisdom that comes from heaven be pure, peaceful, considerate, submissive, full of mercy, full of faith, impartial, and earnest. (James 3:13-17) Therefore, let us be quick ter listen, slow ter speak, and slow ter become angry. (James 1:19-20). Lord, if any among our midsts gets us riled up, we ask here and now that yer patience and self-control be ours in abundance.

Bless us ter understand how we might live godly lives and act in accordance ter yer will by showing grace and mercy ter all.

What the ungodly do not understand, like unreasoning animals, these be the very things that destroy ’em. Let us ‘ave no part in such behavior, nor , when provoked, react as unbridled brutes. Rather, may yer Spirt at work within us allow space and grace fer you ter judge each lass and feller at the proper time.

May our words ter the ungodly simply be those of the archangel Michael: “The Lord rebuke you!” (Jude 9) May yer words ter the ungodly be our words during this age of grace: “Neither do I condemn you. Go, and sin no more.” (John 8:11)

Lord, help us ter stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, help us ter remove any and all stumbling blocks or obstacles in the way of a brother or sister. (Romans 14:13) May our rights in yer grace and mercy not become a hinderance, but clear a path fer the weak in order that they may fall inter yer lovin’ arms. (1 Corinthians 8:9)

Right here, right now we declare that all spirits of bitterness and selfishness, and pride be cast out from our assembly in the powerful name of Jesus. Such spirits must immediately go inter the abyss to be found until the Day of Judgement.

Amen.

Should ya find yerself amongst congregants determined ter travel down the broad way that leads ter destruction, rather than the narrow path that leads ter life, consider this prayer of repentance and restoration for ya and yer crew.

And the angels who did not keep their domain but abandoned their proper dwelling—these he has kept in darkness, bound with everlasting chains for judgment on the great Day. In a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and have gone after strange flesh. They serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire. Likewise, these dreaming ones defile the flesh, set aside authority, and blaspheme the glorious ones. (Jude 6-8)

Lord, you ‘ave made the heaven and the earth. All things, whether visible or invisible, whether they be thrones or dominions or principalities or powers—all things whar created by you and fer you.

You created the angels and assigned them thar positions. Only some rebelled and war broke out in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. And the great dragon was hurled to the earth and his angels with him.

In the same way Satan and his legions abandoned thar domain through rebellion against yer authority—in the same those in and around Sodom and Gomorrah rejected yer authority—so terday godless men and women seek ter satisfy the desires of flesh, set aside yer authority, and heap blaspheme on yer glorious ones.

As in the days of old, so terday some folks torment the righteous with thar advocation fer filthy living. Therefer, we plead with you fer relief from ’em who call sin “good” and repentance from sin a form of hateful speech.

Lord, we ask that those who follow the corrupt desires of thar sinful nature, despise yer authority, and speak lies against yer glorious ones be cast out of yer assembly—not fer the sake of judgement. But so that yer Holy Spirit of Truth might ‘ave its way with ’em and convict all the ungodly of thar sins.

Such dreamers ‘ave lived among thar fantasies fer so long they ‘ave lost tough with reality. More ter the point, they ‘ave lost touch with yer words, truth, and ‘ave rejected yer authority. Perhaps once they see whar darkness leads ’em, the light of yer truth and words ‘ill draw them back inter lovin’ arms so they can confess, repent, and be saved and healed.

Fer a great while now we ‘ave tolerated sin in our midsts. We ‘ave sought ter act with kindness and compassion in the hope that by yer grace, this spirit of rebellion would flee. But instead, those leading this revolt against you ‘ave gained more allies.

Therefore, Lord, we call all in our assembly ter repent. We acknowledge that we have sinned as well. Perhaps not in the same ways, but in yer eyes all sin be rebellion. We ‘ave embraced wickedness and called it good, healthy, and normal. We ‘ave affirmed thoughts, ideas, and beliefs that whar at odds with yer character of holiness, love, and truth. Worse, we ‘ave boasted in our hearts that we are not like ’em.

Fergive us, Lord, fer our hypocrisy, spirit of pride, and self-righteousness. Fergive us as well fer caring more ’bout the opinion of man than the opinion of the Glorious One, Jesus Christ.

We declare that all authority and power on earth, for now and ever more belongs ter you. Yer words are true, not lies. Yer authority is ter be feared, not mocked. And those created in yer image are ter be holy, not wholly consumed with desires of the flesh.

May we be a humble people, a grateful people, a righteous people: not because of our deeds or words. But because of the blessed blood of our savior Jesus. Amen and amen.

Should ya find yerself amongst congregants determined ter go the way of the world rather than follow the Way, the Truth, and the Light of Life, consider this prayer of repentance fer you and yer crew.

(Yes, we are all guilty of the rampant apostasy that infects the Body of Christ.)

Though you already know all this, I want to remind you that the Lord at one time delivered his people out of Egypt, but later destroyed those who did not believe. (Jude 5)

Lord, yer Word reminds me of the time ya delivered yer people out of Egypt. Only befer ya led ’em out, they went through sever trials and testing and had ter gather thar own straw in order ter make bricks. Worse, because of discouragement and the cruel bondage they suffered, a good many did not listen ter yer words or believe ’em. (Exodus 6:9)

As thar be terday among us, so thar whar malcontents among yer people who opposed yer words, calling you a liar. (Exodus: 5:9) Those in charge, the very leaders of yer people, laid this charge against Moses and Aaron and those who spoke yer words: “May the Lord look upon you and judge you! You have made us a stench to those around us!” (Exodus 5:21)

But despite thar distrust in yer goodness and love, you led all out of bondage as promised—fer yer words always be true even when we doubt. Only after enjoying the liberty of freedom in a place of safety, some still did not believe yer words. And so because of thar unbelief, doubts, and hard hearts, they whar destroyed. (Jude 5)

Lord, in the mighty name of Jesus, we call fer the destruction and removal of all works and words in our assembly that reflect disbelief in you, yer words, and yer holy character. In the powerful name of Jesus we spare all individuals who be afflicted with doubt and disbelief, but we declare thar works and words ter be burned as if chaff. May it be so. Amen and amen.

Should ya find yerself amongst congregants determined ter follow the devil rather than the Way, the Truth, and the Light of Life, consider this prayer of repentance for ya and yer crew.

(Yes, we are all guilty of the rampant apostasy that infects the Body of Christ.)

Certain people have crept in unnoticed who long ago were designated for this condemnation, ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into sensuality and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ. (Jude 4)

Lord, we confess that some ungodly folks be among the flock. They they claim ter be yer disciples, but by thar fruit we know ’em ter be filled with rot.

They pervert yer grace and turn it inter a license ter sin in carnal, sensual, ways. Though they claim ter be a disciple of you, by thar actions they deny you, our Lord and Master, Jesus Christ.

Here and now we declare that we be saved by yer grace in order remain pure, clean, and holy—not ter wallow in sin and treat yer sacrifice on the cross as of no cost ter ya. We reject the teaching of those who claim that yer grace be a license ter gratify the lust of the flesh.

Already such folks stand condemned, fer in thar greed these teachers exploit those in the flock with fabricated stories that hold no truth. Thar condemnation hangs over thar heads, and thar destruction ‘ill be swift. (2 Peter 2:3)

Lord, because yer Holy Spirit of Truth stands in opposition ter the spirit of perversity, in the powerful name of Jesus we cast from our midst all spirits that demonstrate a deliberate and obstinate desire ter behave in ways that be unreasonable and unacceptable in yer eyes. Amen and amen.

Godless Men Change the Grace of Our God Into a License for Immorality—Jude 4,11

Dear friends, certain men whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are godless men who change the grace of our God into a license for immorality and oppose Jesus Christ, our only Sovereign Lord. Jude 4

These men are shepherds who feed only themselves. They follow the way of Cain. They rush for profit in Balaam’s error. Jude 11

“Nevertheless, I have a few things against you,” Jesus said. “You have people who hold to the teachings of Balaam, who taught Balak to entice  the Israelites to sin by committing sexual immorality and eating food sacrificed to idols. I will soon come to you and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.” Revelation 2:14-16

For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any double-edge sword. It penetrates to dividing soul and spirit, joint and marrow. It judges thought and attitudes of the heart. Hebrew 4:12

These dreamers who pollute themselves have been destroyed in Korah’s rebellion.

Korah became insolent and rose up against Moses. 250 well-known community leaders came as a group to oppose Moses and Aaron. They said, “You have gone too far! The whole community is holy, every one of them. The Lord is with them. Why then do YOU set yourself above the Lord’s assembly?”

Then the Lord said to Moses and Aaron; “Separate yourselves from this assembly so I can put an end to them at once.” As soon as Moses finished saying all this the ground under him split apart and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed Korah, his men, their households, and all their possessions. They went down alive into the grave with everything they owned. And the earth closed over them. Numbers 16

Enoch prophesied about these men: “The Lord is coming to judge everyone and to convict all the ungodly of all the ungodly acts they have done in ungodly ways. These men boasts about themselves for their own advantage. Jude 14-16

A missionary is someone in whom the Holy Spirit has brought about this realization: “You are not your own.” The Holy Spirit interprets and explains the nature of Jesus to me to make me one with my Lord. The desire that comes into a disciple is not one of doing anything for Jesus, but of being a perfect delight to Him. Oswald Chambers

We Now Repent Fer Failing Ter Declare the Whole Council of Yer Covenant—Jude 3

Should you find yerself compelled ter write, speak out, and urge others ter contend fer the faith that whar once and fer all entrusted ter Skippers’s holy people, consider this prayer of restoration fer ya and yer church.

(Yes, we are all guilty of the cancerous heresy that infects the Body of Christ.)

Dear friends, although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share, I felt compelled to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to God’s holy people. — (Jude 1:3)

Jude, yer half-brother, desired ter write encouraging words ter us ’bout the salvation we ‘ave in you. But he could not remain silent, nor kin we. Instead we must urge those among us in yer Body ter argue fer the faith: ter contend fer the message of yer Truth, Love, Mercy, and Grace whar entrusted ter us once and fer all.

Lord, we repent fer failing ter declare the whole council of yer covenant ter those who be perishing. Fergive us, Lord, fer failing ter hold dear yer words of truth—fer denying yer love fer us in order that we might place our love fer ourself above you and our neighbors. Amen.
