Did God really say that he buried Moses in Moab?

Yes … yes he did.

Here is what happened. “Moses the servant of the Lord died in Moab, as the Lord had said. God buried him in Moab, in the valley opposite Beth Peor, but to this day no one knows where his grave is.” Deuteronomy 34:5

Later the archangel Michael and the devil got into a tussle over Moses’ remains. Here is the account of their argument. “Even the archangel Michael, when he was disputing with the devil about the body of Moses, did not himself dare to condemn Satan for slander but said, “The Lord rebuke you!” Jude 1:9

As to why Michael and the devil fought over Mose’s remains … remains a mystery. But it is clear that God served as his undertaker. And if the God who created the heavens and the earth cares about the small matters of our lives – and death – should we not turn to Him and give thanks?
