2 Kings 17

The imported people did not worship the Lord, so he sent lions among them and they killed some of the people. 2 Kings 17:25

One of the priests who had been exiled from Samaria came to live in Bethel. He taught them how to worship the Lord. 2 Kings 17:28

“You must always be careful to keep the decrees and ordinances, the laws, and the commands God wrote for you.” 2 Kings 17:37

Lord, there are many who say your ordinances, laws, and commands no longer apply; that we have “progressed” to a place in history where your words are no longer relevant. The people in Samaria held a similar view. They assumed you could be worshipped along side Baal, the god of fertility and “Lord Prince of the Earth.” Even within the Body of Christ today, there are those who believe we honor you by rejecting your words. I pray that your words will find fertile ground in my heart. That through your Holy Spirit you will teach me how to worship you as Lord of my life and Lord of Heaven and Earth. Please send teachers and leaders to instruct those in the Church who do not know how to worship you as Lord. Amen.

If you are always keeping blessings to yourself and never learning to pour out anything “to the Lord” other people will never have their vision of God expanded through you. Oswald Chambers

2 Kings 17

The King of Assyria discovered that the king of Israel was a traitor, for he had sent envoys to the king of Egypt. 2 Kings 17:4

The Israelites secretly did things against the Lord their God. 2 Kings 17:9

They did not trust in the Lord their God. They rejected his decrees. They followed worthless idols and themselves became worthless. 2 Kings 17:14-15

They sold themselves to do evil in the eyes of the Lord2 Kings 17:17

So the Lord rejected all the people of Israel; he afflicted them and gave them into the hands of plunderers. 2 Kings 17:20

Lord, I confess that I am a traitor. I secretly do things against you. I do not trust in your goodness, grace, and mercy. I reject your decrees and instructions for me. I follow worthless teachings, chase after fantasies, and become an ungrateful, worthless servant. Please do not reject me. Do not afflict me as I deserve. Do not give me into the hands of the evil one. Rather, rescue me from myself. Please, Lord, have mercy on me.

2 Kings 16

King Ahaz saw an altar in Damascus. He sent Uriah the priest a sketch of the altar with detailed plans for its construction. 2 Kings 16:10

King Ahaz said, “But I will use the bronze altar for seeking guidance.” 2 Kings 16:16

From the bronze altar that stood before the Lord, Ahaz removed the side panels (engraved with lions, bulls, and cherubim), the basins, the Sea, the Sabbath canopy and the royal entryway outside the temple. 2 Kings 16:17

Lord, help me today to ONLY seek guidance from you. May I not be enticed by the altar idols found in foreign temples.

2 Kings 15

The king of Assyria deported the people of Israel to Assyria. 2 Kings 15:29

In those days the Lord began to send the king of Aram against Judah. 2 Kings 15:37

Lord, if you have determined to judge America, please show us where we must go, what we must do. If you are sending other kingdoms against us, please protect your own. Save a remnant.

2 Kings 15

Azariah, king of Judah, began to reign. He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord. 2 Kings 15:3

The Lord afflicted the king with leprosy until the day he died. 2 Kings 15:5

Manahem ripped open all the pregnant women. 2 Kings 15:16

Azariah the priest confronted Uzziah and said, “It is not right for you to burn incenses to the Lord. 2 Chronicles 26:17-18

While Uzziah raged against the priests in the Lord’s temple, leprosy broke out on his forehead. 2 Chronicles 26:19

Lord, I think I found a typo in your book 🙂

Lord, help me today to do what is right in your eyes. Give me your peace. Help me to let go of the anger I fell towards those who seek to crucify your spiritual Body, which is the Church. Help me to know how to protect my family.
