Christ’s Anointing Teaches You About All Things

1 John 2

Christ's Anointing Teaches You About All ThingsThe anointing you receive from Christ remains in you and you do not need anyone to teach you. His anointing, through his Holy Spirit, teaches you about all things. 1 John 2:27

The teaching ministry of the Holy Spirit does not involve revelation of new truth or the explanation of a difficult passage of Scripture to our satisfaction. Rather, it is the development of the capacity to appreciate and appropriate God’s truth already revealed, thus making the Bible meaningful in thought and daily living.

Do not love the world or anything in it. The lust of the eyes and our boasting comes from the world, not God. 1 John 2 :15-16

Many anti-Christians went out from us but they did not really belong to us. No, the liar, the anti-Christian, is the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ, the Messiah, the Son of God. Such an individual denies the Father and the Son. 1 John 2:22

Everyone who does what is right before God has been born of Christ. 1 John 2:25

Those who influence us most did not have even the slightest idea that they were doing so at the time. In the same way, Jesus produces in the commonplace something that is inspiring. Oswald Chambers

If Anyone Obeys God’s Word, God’s Love Is Truly Made Complete In Him

1 John 2

If Anyone Obeys God's Word, God's Love Is Truly Made Complete In HimI write this to you so that you will not sin. 1 John 2:1

We know that we have come to know Christ if we obey his commands. 1 John 2:3

The man who says, “I know Christ,” but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 1 John 2:4

Anyone who claims to be in the light but hates his brother is still in the darkness. 1 John 2:9

If anyone obeys God’s word, God’s love is truly made complete in him. 1 John 2:5

Don’t say, “This is something over which they should be apologizing to me.” Self-pity is satanic. Oswald Chambers

The Word of Life Was From the Beginning

1 John 1

The Word of Life Was From the BeginningWe have heard.

We have seen.

We have touched  . . . the Word of Life. 1 John 1:1

The eternal life was with the Father. The eternal life appeared to us. 1 John 1:2

The blood of Jesus Christ purifies us from all sin. 1 John 1:5

If we claim we have not sinned, the words of Christ have no place in our lives. 1 John 1:10

The Word of Life was from the beginning. 1 John 1:1

Never allow anything that divides or destroys the oneness of your life with Christ to remain in your life without facing it. – Oswald Chambers

Grow In Grace and Knowledge of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ

2 Peter 3

Grow In Grace and Knowledge of Our Lord and Savior Jesus ChristSince you are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth with its home of righteousness, be at peace with Christ. 2 Peter 3:18-19

Paul’s letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as these same people distort other Scriptures to their own destruction. 2 Peter 3:16

See that you are not carried away by the errors of these lawless men. 2 Peter 3:17

Instead, grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. 2 Peter 3:18

Discouragement is disillusioned self-love. Oswald Chambers

Stimulate Yourselves To Wholesome Thinking

2 Peter 3

Stimulate Yourselves To Wholesome Thinking

Stimulate yourselves to wholesome thinking. Recall the words spoken in the past by the holy prophets. 2 Peter 3:1-2

Scoffers will follow their own evil desires. 2 Peter 3:3

God wants everyone to come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9

So you ought to live holy and godly lives, look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. 2 Peter 3:11-12

In keeping with God’s promise, we look forward to a new heaven and new earth, the home of righteousness. 2 Peter 3:13

Our Lord knows perfectly well that once His word is truly heard, it will bear fruit sooner or later. – Oswald Chambers

The Lord Knows How To Rescue Godly Men From Trials

2 Peter 2

The Lord Knows How To Rescue Godly Men From TrialsAngels who sinned were sent to hell and put in dark, gloomy, dungeons with chains. There they will be held for judgement. 2 Peter 2:4

God brought the flood on ungodly peoples. He condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah by burning them to ashes. This is an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly. God rescued Lot, a righteous man, living among the ungodly. Dad after day Lot was distressed by the filthy lives of lawless men. In his righteous soul, Lot was tormented by the lawless deeds he saw and heard. If this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue godly men from trials. God will hold the unrighteous for the day of judgement. This is especially true of those who follow the corrupt desires of the sinful nature of their flesh and despise God’s authority. 2 Peter 2:5-10

Bold, arrogant men speak blasphemies in matters they do not understand. They are like brute beasts, creatures of instinct, born only to be caught and destroyed. Like brute beasts, they too will perish. Their idea of pleasure is to carouse in broad daylight. With eyes full of adultery, they view others as a potential sexual partner. They never stop sinning; they seduce the unstable. They have left the straight way and wandered off.  2 Peter 2:12-15

God’s sense of restraint will always come as a “still small voice.” So faint that no one except a saint of God will notice it. If you continue to grieve His Spirit, there will come a time when that crisis cannot be repeated, because you have totally quenched Him. Oswald Chambers

There Will Be False Teachers Among You

2 Peter 2:1-3

There Will Be False Teachers Among YouBut there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. The will secretly introduce their own destructive teachings. They will deny the Lord, who has bought them and bring sudden destruction on themselves. Many will follow their sexual freedom, and because of them will cause others to dishonor the way of truth.  In their covetousness these teachers will exploit you with fabricated stories. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction. 2 Peter 2:1-3

When a crisis arises that we instantly reveal upon whom we rely. Our Lord has a right to expect that those who name His name have an underlying confidence in Him. Oswald Chambers
