Your Daughter-in-law Is Better Than 7 Sons …

Ruth 4

Your Daughter-in-law Is Better Than 7 Sons ...“Your daughter-in-law who lives with you is better than 7 sons.” Ruth 4:15

Lord, please bless our daughters-in-laws.

They named him Obed. Obed was the father of Jesse who have 7 sons plus David. Ruth 4:17

From a foreigner you brought forth King David, the forerunner to Christ. David’s grandfather was half Moabite. Lord, may you bless all those you graft into your Kingdom through your grace.

May the Lord make the woman who is coming into your home like Rachel and Leah, who together built up the house of Israel. Ruth 4:11

Lord, may you bless the words of my hands today and bring prosperity to all our LPC books, our authors, and my own writing.

Once you receive a commission from Jesus Christ, the memory of what God asks of you will always be there to prod you on to do His will.

Spread the Corner of Your Garment …

Ruth 3

Spread the Corner of Your Garment ...“Spread the corner of your garment over me.” Ruth 3:9

Lord, this is my prayer today. Spread the corner of your garment over me.

May I find you in “good spirits,” approach quietly and lay down in your presence.

May I be found by you to be a man of noble character. As surely as you live and reign, Lord, redeem me. And redeem my two books from Harper Collins. Free Skull Creek Stakeout and Dead Low Tide.

The Word of God inflicts hurt on us more than sin ever could, because sin dulls our senses. Oswald Chambers

There is never any mistaking the pain of the Lord’s Word by His children, but the moment that pain is felt is the very moment at which God reveals His truth to us. Oswald Chambers

Don’t Embarrass Her …

Ruth 2

Don't Embarrass Her ...Ruth worked steadily except for a short rest in the shelter. Ruth 2

“I have told the men not to touch you.” (Boaz)  Ruth 2

“Don’t embarrass her.” Ruth 2

“May you be richly rewarded by the Lord, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge.” Ruth 2:12

“In someone else’s field you might be harmed.” Ruth 2:22

Lord, you are the God of Shelter, the God of Refuge. In you, though we are rebuked, you do not embarrass us if we repent. Though others seek to harm us, you watch over us. All who work in your fields are richly blessed by you and find shelter.

When we do something out of obedience to the Lord, there can be no other explanation—just obedience. That is why a saint can be so easily ridiculed and misunderstood. Oswald Chambers

The Lord’s Hand Has Gone Against Me …

Ruth 1

The Lord's Hand Has Gone Against Me ...“The Lord’s hand has gone against me!” Ruth 1:13

“The Almighty has made my life very bitter.” Ruth 1:20

“The Lord has afflicted me.” Ruth 1:21

“The Lord Almighty has brought misfortune upon me.” Ruth 1:21

The Lord came to the aid of his people. Ruth 1:6

Lord, when it seems that your hand has turned against me, come to me. When my soul is bitter, come to me. When I am afflicted, come to me. When misfortune overtakes me, may I run and overtake you.

Where you go, I will go. Where you stay, I will stay. Your people will be my people. You are my God.

We impoverish and weaken God’s ministry in us the moment we forget He is almighty. Oswald Chambers

The reason some of us are such poor examples of Christ is that we failed to recognize that Christ is almighty. Oswald Chambers

The thing that approaches the very limits of God’s power is the very thing we as disciples of Jesus ought to believe He will do. Oswald Chambers

Lord, I know you can fix this mess with Harper Collins. Please fix.
