God will punish those who do not know him and do not obey the words of our Lord Jesus. They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord. 2 Thessalonians 1:9

The key to the missionary’s task is prayer. Oswald Chambers

Our work, common sense, medicine, culture, education, even efforts to evangelize is not the key to our task. From the perspective of Christ, there are no nations, only the world. The harvest of Christ is produced through distress and conviction of sin. Pray for laborers to be sent out with the good news of Christ. Do not waste your time on activities, programs, small group studies, or sermons that focus on anything other than the good news of Christ, his words and actions. Pray that Christ will engineer your circumstances so that you can be sent into the field where the abundant harvest awaits. Then go and be Christ to the lost. (adapted from Oswald Chambers)

The missionary’s message is the limitless importance of Jesus Christ as the propitiation for our sins, and a missionary is someone who is immersed in the truth of that revelation. A missionary is someone who is bound by marriage to the stated mission and purpose of his Lord and Master. He is not to proclaim his own point of view, but is only to proclaim that Christ takes away the sin of the world!” Oswald Chambers

Repentance and remission of sins should be preached . . . to all nations.” (Luke 24:47).

Live In Order To Please God

1 Thessalonians 4

Live In Order To Please GodLive in order to please God. Do this more and more. 1 Thessalonians 4:1

It is God’s will that you avoid sexual immorality. Learn to control your own body. Make your body holy and honorable to the Lord. Do not be consumed with passionate lust. In this matter, no one should wrong his brother or take advantage of him. The Lord will punish men for all such sins. 1 Thessalonians 4:3-6

Sexual sin harms others besides those who engage in it. In adultery, the spouse is always wronged. Premarital sex wrongs the future partner by robbing him or her of the virginity that ought be brought to the marriage.

He who rejects this instruction rejects God who give you his Holy Spirit. 1 Thessalonians 4:8

We were torn away from you for a short time – in person, but not in thought. 1 Thessalonians 2: 17

I wanted to come to you again and again but Satan stopped us. You are our hope, our joy, our crown, and our glory in the presence of the Lord Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 2:19

I was afraid the tempter might have tempted you and our efforts might have been useless. 1 Thessalonians 2:6

Sin is deliberate and determined independence from God. The Bible alone deals with sin, not “sins.” The first thing Christ confronted in people was the heredity of sin. In the presentation of the Gospel message we have ignored this. – Oswald Chambers
