They Have Been Destroyed in Korah’s Rebellion—Jude 11

Should you find yourself in a congregation where the spirit of Korah is at work, consider praying this prayer out loud.

(Yes, we are all guilty of allowing heretics and unclean spirits to attack the Body of Christ.)

Woe to them! They have taken the way of Cain; they have rushed for profit into Balaam’s error; they have been destroyed in Korah’s rebellion. (Jude 11)

Lord, fergive us fer rebelling against you. Such acts of rebellion reflect and insolent heart. Please ‘ave mercy upon us fer acting in such a mutinous manner.

Be thar any ungodly fellers in our midst who follow in the ways of Korah and gather ’round ’em folks of similar stripes, may they be exposed as traitors. Should they come as a group ter oppose yer character, words, authority, power, and might, may yer Spirit rebuke ’em. Such rascals spout the words of Korah:

“Our whole community is holy, every one of us, and the Lord is with us. Why then do you set yourselves above us as though passing judgement?” (Numbers 16:3)

In reply you say:

“The Lord will show who belongs to him and who is holy, but you and all your followers have gone too far!” (Numbers 16:5-7) Remember all the commands of the Lord so that you may obey them and not prostitute yourselves by chasing after the lusts of your own hearts and eyes. (Numbers 15:39)

Lord, right here, right now, in the mighty name of Jesus we cast out any spirit of Korah which be working in our midsts. Any spirit which seeks ter set itself above yer assembly and honor the lustful cravings of hearts and eyes be cast out the powerful name of Jesus. Amen and amen.
