Grace and peace be yours in abundance who have been chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through the sanctifying work of the Spirit, to be obedient to Jesus Christ and sprinkled with his blood.- 1 Peter 1:2 (1 Peter 1:2-7)

Dear Mates, we be Skipper’s elect, tha ones chosen through tha sanctifying work of his Holy Ghost of Truth, so in all things live in obedience ter Skipper’s Son. – Peter

In his great mercy, Skipper gives us new birth in ter a living hope. This hope be through tha resurrection of tha Son who, though he went down ter Davy Jones, Skipper raised up from tha dead. As ya well know, once a feller goes down ter a watery grave he ne’re swims up alive. But tha Son did. We ‘ave tha testimony of them who says as much.

Through faith in tha Son we be shielded by Skipper’s power until tha coming rescuing of all who be his elect. Now Skip’s protecting power don’ mean all be smooth sailing. Fact ’tis, sailing and living in obedience ter Skipper and his Son ‘ill bring more squalls than days of smooth sailing, tha prince of demons. Tha devil himself, ‘ill see ter that. Sailing and living in obedience ter Skipper and his Son ‘ill bring howls of mocking laughter from them who ‘ave tha devil’s spirits in ‘em. Tha protecting power of Skip be of a kind that preserves our faith and that be of greater worth than preserving our body and life. Our faith in tha Son be our guarantee of a new full life that ‘ill ne’er end.

Right now a good many of us may ‘ave ter suffer grief in all manner of trials aboard hard ships. This be happening so each feller’s faith may prove genuine and result in praise, glory, and honor ter tha Son.

Buck up.

Hold fast ter Skipper’s words and what ya know be true and right in his Code of Conduct.

Obey tha Son in all things.

Ya ‘ill know ya ‘ave new birth through tha Holy Ghost of Truth if ya be absolutely certain that ya be in good standing with Skipper.

If ya not absolutely certain that tha living hope which never dies be inside ya, drop ter yer knees this second and confess all tha vile sins ya ever done. Don’ jest confess, but turn from doing ‘em. Ask tha Son ter put his Holy Ghost of Truth in ya. Then go off and be baptized in water as a public confession that ya ‘ave died ter yer old self and now have tha Son’s life in ya. Ask some righteous fellers and lasses ter lay hands on ya and anoint ya in ter tha Son’s Holy Ghost of Truth. Once ya done all this ya be in Skipper and Skipper be in ya, of this ya kin be sure.
