Should ya find yerself amongst congregants whar the spirit of Cain be at work, consider praying this prayer out loud.
(Yes, we are all guilty of allowing heretics and unclean spirits to attack the Body of Christ.)
Woe to them! They have taken the way of Cain. (Jude 11)
Lord, woe to those godless men and women who ‘ave taken the way of Cain. In anger and with bitterness in thar hearts, they show thar true stripes by thar hate fer yer words, character, love, and actions. Like Cain, they do what is wrong and expect ter be accepted by you. Fergive us, Lord, fer falling in step with such reprobates—fer denying yer truth and love fer us.
Do not put an innocent or honest person to death, for I will not acquit the guilty. (Exodus 23:7)
I will demand an accounting for the life of another human being. Whoever sheds human blood, by humans shall their blood be shed. For in the image of God has God made mankind. (Genesis 9:5-6)
Rather than mastering sin, ter often we be mastered by sin—by our love fer sin. We feed our sin with the lust of our eyes. Like Cain we kill our young in secret—rip ’em apart limb-by-limb whilst they be in thar mom’s womb. Stuff thar remains in trash heaps.
Then we lie ’bout our deception and our evil acts. We call such vile offenses our “rights.” But by what right do we ‘ave ter take innocent life? Lord, you know all ’bout our wicked ways. You see all, hear all, know all. The cries of the innocent go up to you from the ground. You say ter us:
“What have you done? Listen! Your brother’s blood cries out to me from the ground.” (Genesis 4:10)
“The outcry is so great and their sin so grievous that I will go down and see if what they have done is as bad as the outcry that has reached me. If not, I will know.” Genesis 18:20
Lord, we be accursed, driven from the ground, cast from yer presence due ter our wickedness. We be restless wanderers who find no rest, no peace—no relief from our vile addiction ter sin done in secret.
Oh Lord, in the mighty name of Jesus we cast out all unclean spirits: all lying spirits, all wickedness, all who practice and promote evil acts in your name, all who bring pressure on our brothers and sisters to surrender to sin, who seek to break down the doors of your holy temple, which is our body. We repent fer destroying yer temple, our bodies and the bodies of the innocent, in order ter live “free” of yer constraints.
Ter those who have gone the way of Cain and refuse ter repent, we agree with yer curse and declare they have no part of our fellowship, of our worship in your holy presence. May the devil ‘ave thar way with ’em in the hopes that yer Spirit ‘ill convict ’em of the need ter be saved by yer Son, Jesus.
We pray that in casting out all unclean spirits, those held in bondage ter sin might be set free. Lord, in the powerful name of Jesus we declare all who wish to be free from sin be healed from all perverse spirits and set free from sin. Amen.
