“Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved. Whoever does not believe will be condemned.” – Mark 16:16
“This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.”
Then tha Son opened their minds so they could understand tha Scriptures. No doubt at that moment, with thar minds open ter tha Truth, tha Eleven recalled his words from earlier.
“Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have come to fulfill them, not abolish them. Truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. Unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.
“Whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. But anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven. ” (Matthew 5:17-20)
From yeast ter least that be tha way Satan works.
From removing one small command ter removing all tha words of Skipper, that be tha way that black-hearted rascal tha Devil sows seeds of doubt and reaps a harvest of souls bound with him in Hades. Tha Son warned his crew, “Whoever believes and is baptized, will be saved. Whoever does not believe will be condemned.” (Mark 16:16) Less than twenty-four hours earlier tha Son had said ter his crew:
“If you love me, keep my commands. Because I live, you also will live.”
On this side of tha grave we doth not really live, not like tha Son means. At best we exists. We catch glimpses of tha glorious life Skipper intends fer us, but all of life be lived under tha shadow of death.
“All our days pass away under your wrath; we finish our years with a moan.” (Psalm 90:9)
Life in tha Son begins tha moment we exchange our life fer his and accept that he has absorbed tha punishment due us fer our sins. From then on, we be living in tha Kingdom of Skipper. How kin ya tell if ya be in Skip’s Kingdom? Ask yer self this: Do I agree with tha commands and teaching of tha Son? Do I want ter obey Skipper and tha Son’s teachings? Doth ya wish ter love tha Son as much as he loves ya?
Tha sun says:
“Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them. Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching.”
Love fer tha Son be expressed through our obedience ter his teaching. Love fer tha Son be expressed through our obedience ter Skipper’s words found in in tha Law of Moses, tha Prophets and tha Psalms. When we love tha Son and Skipper first, we kin love others as ourself and share with ’em tha gift of salvation we enjoy. Without this kind of love, we kin not love others. In fact, we ‘ill hate others. Hate and bitterness always be tha fruit of a life lived apart from tha Son.
“This is what is written,” tha Son told his mates. “The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name.” (Luke 24:44-48)
Tha Son done tha suffering. Tha Son rose from tha dead, destroying life in tha grave fer them who be in him. We be charged with confessing our sins and repenting of our wicked ways. We be charged with preaching and teaching repentance fer tha fergiveness of sins.
Will ya do that ter day? Will ya love tha Son? Will ya trust and obey his teachings? Make it yer task ter day ter ask tha Son ter open yer minds so ya kin understand tha glorious Truth found in Skip’s Scriptures.
