Bayleaf Baptist Sermon text, June 24, 2018

1 Peter 4:14-17If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed.  The Spirit of Glory rests upon you. The Spirit of God rests upon you. 1 Peter 4:14

Judgement begins with the family of God. It begins with us. 1 Peter 4:17

If you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed. Praise God!  1 Peter 4:14

Lord, may I not be ashamed of your name today. May you judge the family of God, judge us. Please remove the religious apostasy that has spread like a cancer through the Body of Christ. Judge us when we willfully abandon your commands, statutes, and laws. There is a way forward that leads to salvation, a way that leads to righteousness through Christ. But it begins with You, Your Holiness, and our repentance.  If we suffer for your name, may we do so with joy and show love to those who hate us, hate You, and hate Your Words.
