A Prayer for Repair During Times of Despair
Psalm 44
(all typos are the original work of the author and for the entertainment of others)
O God, your right hand, your arm, sustains me. The light of your face guides me. You, O God, give me victory, for you love me.(3) I do not trust in my strength. My skills do not bring success. 6) But you, O God, you give me victory over my enemies.(7)
But now you have rejected me. You have humbled me.(9)
The works of my hands do not prosper. I plant but do not harvest. I plow but do not reap. Those whom I help, friends who seek my advice, they fail with my council. I spend money on seed that does not sprout.(15)
All this happens even though I have not forgotten you or rejected your covenant. My heart has not turned away from you. My feet have not strayed from your path, your word. My lips speak of your power and goodness. My voice sings your praise. I testify to your goodness.(17-18)
But still you crush me. You cover me with deep darkness.(19). For some purpose which I do not understand, I face loss all day long. Like sheep, I am getting slaughtered.(22)
Do not reject me! Why do you hide your face from me? Why do you forget my misery and oppression?(23-24)
Rise up! Help me! Repair my circumstances because of your unfailing love.(26)
