2 Kings 19

King Hezekiah sent the palace administrator, the secretary, and the leading priests to the prophet Isaiah. They told Isaiah, “Pray for the remnant that still survives.” 2 Kings 19:2-4

Isaiah said to them: “Listen! This is what the Lord says. ‘Do not be afraid of what you have heard—those words with which the underlings of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me. I am going to put such a spirit in Rabshakeh that he will return to his own country. There I will have him cut down by the sword.” 2 Kings 19:5-7

Lord, God over all the kingdoms on earth, give ear to my prayer and hear. Open your eyes and see. Deliver us from the hand of those who insult your name so that all the kingdoms on earth may know that you alone, O Lord, are God!
