1 Kings 22

The blood from his wound ran onto the floor of the chariot. 1 Kings 22:36

They washed the chariot at a pool in Samaria where the prostitutes bathed. 1 Kings 22:38

Lord, may your blood cleanse me of all my sins. In the same way soldiers cleaned their weapons in the prostitute pool, cleanse me until I a fit to do your work.

You will know that I am the Lord. 1 Kings 20:28

So the prophet said, “Because you have not obeyed the Lord, as soon as you leave me a lion will kill you. 1 Kings 20:36

Lord, today may I know that you are my Lord. May I obey your word. May you kill all sin in my life and allow me to live in your will.

1 Kings 19

Elijah went up to Elisha and threw his cloak around him. 1 Kings 19:19

Elisha burned the plowing equipment. Then he set out to follow and become Elijah’s attendant. 1 Kings 19:21

Lord, when you throw the cloak of your Holy Spirit upon us, we must stop, turn, and follow you. Today, give me the strength to burn my equipment and set out to follow you. May I prove myself to be a worthy attendant.

 

The Beatitudes contain the “dynamite” of the Holy Spirit. They “explode” when the circumstances of our lives cause them to do so. – Oswald Chambers

O Lord, God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, let it be known today that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant and have done all these things at your command. Answer me, O Lord, answer me. 1 Kings 18:36-37

The power of the Lord came upon Elijah. 1 Kings 18:45

Lord, I have sought to honor you with my actions at LPC. I am your servant. I need better direction for marketing our books. Answer me, O Lord. May the power of the Lord come upon me.

1 Kings 17

The word of the Lord came to Elijah: “I have ordered the ravens to feed you.” 1 Kings 17:4

The word of the Lord came to Elijah: “I have commanded a widow to supply you with food.” 1 Kings 17:9

“This is what the Lord says: ‘The jar of flour will not be used up and the jug of oil will not run dry until the day the Lord gives rain on the Land.; “ 1 Kings 17:14

Lord, you order your creation to provide food for your children. You command strangers to care for our needs. You direct the heavens to send rain – or not. Today I ask that you care for my daily needs. By your provisions and grace, bless me. 

Those who wait on the Lord … shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31

1 Kings 16

1 Kings 16Cursed before the Lord is the man who undertakes to rebuild this city, Jericho. At the costs of his firstborn son will he lay its foundations; of the costs of his youngest will he set up its gates.” Joshua 6:26

Heil rebuilt Jericho. He laid its foundations at the cost of his firstborn son. He set up its gates at the cost of his second son. This was in accordance with the word of the Lord spoken by Joshua, son of Nun. 1 Kings 16:34

Lord, please remove any generational curses that may hold my family in bondage.

Elah was King of Judah for two yeas. 1 Kings 16:8

Elah was getting drunk when Zimri came in, struck him down, and killed him. 1 Kings 16:10

Zimri reigned for seven days. 1 Kings 16:15

When Zimri saw that the city was taken, he went into the citadel of the royal palace and set the palace around him on fire. He died1 Kings 16:18

Lord, may I be drunk with your Spirit. May I be intoxicated by your love. May I live in wonder at your greatness. Strike down the sin in my life. Kill the desires that war against your Spirit. Set me on fire for you.
