I Am the Lord of the Sabbath

When Jesus Whispers

“I ask you, which is lawful on the Sabbath: to do good or do evil, to save life or to destroy life? I tell you that one greater than the temple is here. If you had known what these words mean, ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice,’ then you would not condemn the innocent for doing good on the Sabbath.

“If any of you has a sheep and it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will you not take hold of it and lift it out? How much more valuable is a man than a sheep! Therefore, it is lawful to take hold of a man, lift him up, and do good on the Sabbath. Truly I say to you: my Father made the Sabbath for man, not man for the Sabbath. Yes I tell you, the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.”
