A Prayer for Protection and RescueA PRAYER FOR PROTECTION AND RESCUE FROM 2 Samuel 22:3-4 Feel free to exchange the pronouns for the names of those you love who need rescuing today.

God is my rock, in whom I take refuge,
my shield and the strength of my salvation.
He is my stronghold, my refuge and my savior—
from violent men you save me.
I called to the Lord, who is worthy of praise,
and have been saved from my enemies.

Oh Lord, you are my rock and my fortress. You are my deliverer. In you alone I take refuge. You are my shield, the One who guards me, who deflects the weapons of my enemy, the devil.

Lord, you are my strength. You are my salvation, my savior, the One who rescues me.

Violent spirits come against me and my family. They strike us down and leave us imprisoned. They seek to kill us and destroy the works of our hands.

These currents of destruction sweep over me. I am overwhelmed.

The cords of death coil around my feet and legs, pulling me down.

The snares of the devil lay before me and around me.

In my distress I call out to you, Lord. I call out to my God.

Hear my voice. Let my cry reach your ears. You alone, Lord, can save me.

Amen and amen.
