Now we be down ter the crux of the matter. Some among the crew ‘ave declared they will not abide by Skipper’s commands. Worse, they ‘ave rallied ’round ’em a goodly many of the crew who sides with this spirit of lawlessness and rebellion. In days of old the people of Skipper often proved stiff-necked and refused ter obey his Code of Conduct. Now that ruinous spirit hath taken hold of yer crew. What ter do? ya may ask.
Thar be but one thing: pray away such divisive, deceptive spirits and declare that all aboard ‘ill stand firm with Skipper and his Son.
Focal Passages: John 14:23, James 1:22, 1 Kings 2:3, Romans 8:13, Acts 5:32, Ephesians 6:17, Matthew 5:18-19, Matthew 16:19.
Lord, we pray that we would apply ter words yer our daily lives, fer ya say:
“Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching.” (John 14:23)
Yer earthly brother James once declared:
“Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.” (James 1:22)
Ter listen ter yer words but refuse ter do what they say be ter deceive ourself, fer ya hath said:
“Walk in obedience to me. Keep my decrees and commands, my laws and regulations, as written in the Law of Moses. Do this so that you may prosper in all you do and wherever you go.” (1 Kings 2:3)
Fer if we be led by yer Holy Spirit of Truth, we ‘ill rejoice at the reading, listening, hearing, tasting, and doing of yer words.
“If you live according to the flesh, you will die. But if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.” (Romans 8:13)
This be one way we kin know if we be walking by the flesh or yer Holy Spirit of Truth: doth we pray and declare that the misdeeds of the body die at the roots, at the very cells of sin? Well we know that those in a battle suit up be fer going into a scrape. Ter those who obey Skipper’s words, he hath given us his Holy Spirit of Truth. (Acts 5:32)
“Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” (Ephesians 6:17)
Lord, fer be it from us ter reject yer Holy Spirit of Truth by denying the Spirit’s words and cling ter a contrarian doctrine of false statements and half-truths. Fer ya ‘ave said:
“Until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 5:18-19)
Lord, by yer own words we bind all who sets aside one of the least of yer commands and teach others accordingly. In the mighty name of Jesus declare that we bind on earth is bound in heaven and what we loose on earth is loosed on earth. We loose yer words in ____________ ter be a blessing ter all in our crew.
